Hello, friends.
As some of you may know, I’m currently living in Asia. And at this time of year, there’s a problem everyone has to deal with- and that problem is fruit flies.
They get EVERYWHERE. You wake up one day, and there’s a cloud of them swarming around your kitchen. You’re on your laptop, and they’re flying past your face. You yawn, and you accidentally swallow one. It can really make life messy.
Luckily, I’ve come across an easy to make trap that is pretty effective- I’ve gone from a dozen-plus flies in my room at any time to rarely seeing any within a few days, all by putting one of these on my kitchen counter.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1) A bowl
2) Apple cider vinegar
3) dish soap
4) A knife or spoon
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
1) Fill your bowl just under half way up with water.
2) Fill up up the rest of your bowl with apple cider vinegar, filling most of the bowl.
3) Pour a few drops of dish soap into your bowl.
4) Use your knife or spoon to mix the contents of the bowl.
That’s it. The smell of the apple cider vinegar attracts the flies. Usually they can stand on water, but the dish soap changes the surface tension, and they sink to the bottom. Clean your bowl out every day or two and start again.
This trap worked well for me, and I hope it will do the same for you.

Have you written a book? I want to remember eveything you have here but afraid I’ll forget it when I need it! I have senior moments! I’m sure the computer won’t be working when a disaster hits or the zombies strike. Also, how can I be prepared to board up my house quickly (build my fortress) without being obvious in the mean time to non-believers?
