MY PHILOSOPHY

“Prepare for the worst but hope for the best.” – Anonymous English Proverb

RamboMoe is just like you.

I grew up in the suburbs, with all of the comforts that come with that. I assumed that was the way things always were, and how they always would be.

Then, one day, I had an awakening.

I realized that the comfort and safety that most of us felt in being part of the system was largely an illusion.

I realized that if the proverbial shit were to ever truly hit the fan, government institutions could not be relied upon, and we could only count on ourselves to survive.

I realized that I had a lot to learn.

The purpose of this site is to chronicle that journey, and serve as a guide to others to  help them in theirs.

The purpose of this site ISN’T to predict if/when society is going to collapse. There are many smarter people than me trying to figure that out. I really don’t have the answer there. The purpose of this site ISN’T to scare the crap out of people. That isn’t in line with my philosophy. The point of this site IS to offer a ton of useful information to allow people to PREPARE for anything that COULD happen. They can then live their lives with peace of mind, knowing no matter what happens, they have the tools and knowledge to handle it.

I am by no means an expert in every aspect of this stuff. I plan on continuing to learn, and when possible enlisting the help of experts in various fields to come together and offer their knowledge. My dream is that in a few years, this site will be a virtual survival encyclopedia and will allow a total novice to come on here and be supplied with everything he needs to become PREPARED FOR ANYTHING.

So feel free to browse around and leave some comments. All participation is appreciated, all I ask is that you treat each other with the utmost respect, even if you happen to disagree on something. We’re all at different places in our lives, and all doing the best we can at the given moment.

If you have any questions or feedback, I’d love to hear from you. Drop me a line at preparedforthat@gmail.com.

Cheers, and stay prepared!

  1. Yeah Man. I remember that awakening and the sense of, “I’ve got to do something quick!” feeling that went along with it.

You’ve got a good style and you focus on things that everybody should have knowledge about, but doesn’t. Keep it up.

  2. Thanks for the kind words, JS! I enjoy your articles on SHTF blog. I’ve been tied up the last month or two, but there are big things to come!

  3. I read you last comment on shtfblog & found it quite amusing – I like that style of humor. I followed the link here & really like your style on your blog – I am always up for intelligent, well thought out articles & you seem well organized.

My style of writing on a couple of blogs is fairly direct, bordering on acidic (I do have a very clear a purpose in those specific locations) as I like poking holes into people’s boxes in the hope they can see some outside light.

Personally, I do not think things are as chaotic as it can seem but the chaos does have a purpose in that it is an orchestrated distraction – but that is a loooooong discussion.

Anyway, I like your site – keep up the great work!

  4. Thanks a lot, Jason! SHTF Blog is great, Ranger gave me one of my first ever guest post opportunities, so I’m thankful for that. My goal with the site is, within a year or two, to have a virtual encyclopedia on the subject, with everything easy to access even for a total beginner. But, as my display pic probably indicates, I don’t take myself too seriously either, and am quite prone to goofing off.

Personally I think we’re at an interesting point in history, a point where things HAVE TO change, the staus quo really can’t continue, but that doesn’t necessarily ensure doom and gloom. There’s the potential for a better world as well. I think part of being a man (or woman) is being prepared for the worst, so you can then dedicate you faculties 100% to being your best.

    Cheers

    • Keeping things light & differential is a good thing because it can create balance & keep people away from getting so ground into a dismal world. As you well know, most all “news” is either highly negative and or sensationalized because people seem to like the dark side … and I truly wonder why. I am an excessive optimist but I still find myself peering into the dirt & grime of humanity and, occasionally, write in that caustic style.

I think you have a wonderful goal and I’d try to keep it relatively simple. One thing I am into (don’t tell anyone) is DIY things like making laundry soap & fabric softener etc. I found a blog (referenced below) that has tons of ideas & the gal writes like a blonde, if you get my drift.

Needless to say, she has a huge following & has pirated items from other people which she fully acknowledges. I think the key to her success is she is very simple & approachable. Personally, I think it is too goofy but hey, she’s doing it & has a following, so what do I know?

      Anyway, check it out -

      PS

As far as your photo, toy around with different shots – there is a zero cost & can be fun.

  5. Yeah that’s a cool site, I like the stuff in the DIY style, I think it adds the most direct value to people.

As for my picture, if it wasn’t obvious that’s my face photoshopped on Rambo’s head, lol

  6. SurvivAll Expert says:

I’ll be plucking the good insights from your site. Thanks for putting it out there!

  7. Pluck away, Sir!
